Фома, accustomed to harsh methods and decisive actions, finds himself in a completely unfamiliar situation when his straightforward approaches do not work in the world of school relationships. The collision with the reality of the children's world forces him to realize that his usual methods will not bring success in the new environment.

Attempts to smooth things over with Sasha do not succeed, and Foma has to reconsider his tactics. He realizes that he needs to change his communication approaches and adapt to the new conditions. This not only frustrates him, but also makes him reflect on his own behavior and values.

However, not everything is as bad as it seems. Meeting Tatyana, a literature teacher, gives Foma new hope and motivation. Her attractiveness and warmth evoke sympathy in him, and he sees in her an opportunity to find a new direction in his life. Thus, the unsuccessful start at school opens up new horizons and opportunities for personal growth for Foma.
